The authors of Excavating Occaneechi Town recognize that, while all the information recovered in an archaeological excavation may have scientific importance, it is inappropriate to display some of that information, such as photographs of human bones, in a publication meant for the general public. The original CD-ROM edition (1998) could optionally be installed as a “Professional Version,” which contained these images. That version has now been discontinued.
